Hi all, i'm trying to install xp pro on my dell vostro laptop but keep receiving error as follows during stage 1 of the install: "setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and connected"…etc. I have checked the HDD installed & it is a Toshiba ATA MK1637G 149GB capacity. I have not got recovery disks as i have bought this laptop wihout one. What can I do to fix this problem as I am very anxious to what could be causing the problem as above? Are there any software packages that can resolve this? I'm very new to computing so I appreciate your help in advance. Thanks to those replying.
