Socket AM2 is the end of May 2006 release of AMD’s DDR2 memory support AMD64-bit desktop CPU interface standards, a 940-pin CPU, dual-channel DDR2 memory. According to AMD’s planning, Socket AM2 interface will gradually replace the original Socket 754 interface and Socket 939 interface, the desktop platform to achieve the reunification of CPU interface.
